Functor's agentic wallet is a passkey-derived smart account: the user holds the passkey on their device, the agent acts under a session key with onchain-enforced spending limits and an expiry. Unlike a custodial agent wallet, Functor never has access to the underlying key.

How do I give my AI agent a wallet?

Reserve a wallet at functor.sh: enter your email, verify with a 6-digit code, create a passkey with Touch ID or Face ID, and grant a 7-day session key with a $1 USDC spending cap. The session key is what your agent uses to transact. The key is registered in the public Functor Keystore so any contract can verify what your agent is authorized to do.

Is Functor's agentic wallet custodial?

No. The passkey lives in the user's secure enclave (macOS Keychain, Windows Hello, iCloud Keychain, Android Keystore). Functor cannot sign, freeze, or move funds. The session key is generated client-side and registered onchain; revocation is a single transaction with immediate effect.

How are spending limits enforced for the AI agent?

Spending limits are enforced onchain at userop validation. When the agent submits a transaction, the smart account contract checks the rolling USDC spend against the cap (default: 1 USDC per 7-day session). Any transaction that would exceed the cap reverts at the bytecode level — there is no app-level check that can be bypassed.

What happens if I lose the device with my passkey?

If your passkey was synced through iCloud Keychain or Google Passwords, sign in on any device that shares the sync — the OS picker will show the passkey and Touch ID / Face ID reconstructs the wallet. If the passkey was device-bound and the device is gone, you'd start fresh with a new wallet on the new device; your email and waitlist points remain with you. Functor cannot reset the wallet because Functor never held the key.

How is Functor different from a custodial AI agent wallet?

Custodial agent wallets store the signing key on a vendor's server. The vendor can sign transactions on your agent's behalf, can freeze accounts, and represents a single point of failure. Functor's agentic wallet is the opposite: the key lives on the user's device, every permission is verified onchain, and the wallet works without calling any Functor service. Uninstall anytime with zero vendor lock-in.
